Welcome to Empower Restoration, our capital campaign!
New Mercies is expanding our mission to provide safe, supportive housing for vulnerable mothers and children through the Empower Restoration capital campaign. This initiative will transform a historic building on the Headwaters Church campus in the Bloomingdale neighborhood into a home for up to 17 families.
Programming will be for families who have been served by our Hosting Ministry but are unable to reunite due to a lack of affordable housing. Mothers and their children will be able to reunite much faster after a crisis, gain stability, and work toward independence. By offering a nurturing community, personalized coaching, and access to essential resources, we are breaking cycles of social isolation and homelessness. Join us in creating a lasting impact—because every mother and child deserves a secure place to heal and thrive.

What's been done so far?
Significant progress has been made on the Empower Restoration project so far. The New Mercies Board of Directors approved fundraising efforts in August 2023, and by December, funding for the Design Phase was secured. Schematic designs and development plans were completed during this time, and a Building Committee and Capital Campaign Committee were formed to oversee the project. Headwaters Church has committed to reserving the building while funds are raised. In 2024, we reached 20% funding for the project, with several key donations. Preliminary planning and partnerships are in place as of early 2025, and the project is now focused on securing full funding to begin renovations.

We invite you to partner with us in this transformative initiative to support families in a new and impactful way. There are many ways to contribute to this project:
- A gift of $50,000 covers the average bed renovation cost. You would be sponsoring a sleeping room, and your name would appear on a plaque outside the door.
- A gift of $100,000 covers the cost for 2 average bed renovations. You would be sponsoring several sleeping rooms, and your name would appear on plaques outside the doors.
- A gift of $100,000+ will cover the cost of one of the larger spaces in the building (the dining room or classrooms). You would receive full or shared naming rights to one of these spaces.
