What is Rooted Together?
Rooted Together is a mentoring ministry and fellowship night for moms who have previously used or are currently utilizing the hosting ministry of New Mercies. The ultimate purpose is to provide friendship and support for women who have expressed a desire to begin a relationship with Christ and grow in their faith.
Details
Gatherings are held on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday evenings of each month at St. Joe Community Church. Fellowship nights include a meal or snack, childcare, group devotional, occasional life skills workshops, and one-on-one time with moms and their mentor-friend.
Path to Mentoring
Do you have a heart for helping women grow in their knowledge of God and the Bible? This ministry may be perfect for you! Mentor-friends are asked to facilitate Gospel-focused conversations and consistently spend personal time in God’s Word as they help guide other ladies in their walks with Christ.
As a mentor-friend, you will be matched with a mom and meet with them individually on fellowship nights to go through a Bible study. You will also reach out to moms via call or text on off weeks to continue building relationships. You may be asked to lead a short devotional once every few months for the Rooted Together gatherings as well.
To get started as a mentor-friend, simply fill out an application, and select the mentor option. You will then be contacted to schedule an interview with the Rooted Together Coordinator before completing the required approval process and training.

If you have an interest in mentorship, talk to your Family Coach about meeting with a mentor-friend! You can also text the Rooted Together Coordinator, Jen Bergdall, at (260) 341-3511 to let her know you want to start coming. You can begin attending Rooted Together fellowship nights at any time during a hosting arrangement or following the end of a hosting.
As part of Rooted Together, you are committing to attend fellowship nights and discuss Bible reading with your mentor-friend. Transportation to and from fellowship nights can be requested as needed.*
