Director of Supportive Housing
Reports to: Executive Director
Classification: Full-time, Exempt
Location: Fort Wayne, Indiana - Onsite position only
Position Overview
The Director of Supportive Housing will lead the launch and growth of a new housing ministry for New Mercies Ministries (learn more about the ministry here). This role requires both vision and faithful execution, building the program from the ground up while actively serving families day to day. This leader will help create a place of safety, structure, and hope, while establishing a team to sustain and expand the ministry.

Key Responsibilities
Ministry Development & Leadership
- Design, launch, and oversee the supportive housing ministry
- Establish systems, policies, and Christ-centered program practices
- Ensure excellence, safety, and alignment with our mission
Direct Care & Operations
- Provide hands-on support, guidance, and case management for families
- Oversee daily operations of the home
- Coordinate resources, referrals, and partnerships
- Track outcomes and maintain strong communication with leadership
Team & Volunteer Development
- Build and develop a staffing structure for growth
- Recruit, train, and shepherd staff and volunteers
- Cultivate a healthy, mission-driven team culture
Collaboration & Leadership
- Partner with ministries, churches, and community agencies
- Serve on the Leadership Team and support financial and strategic planning
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred
- Experience working with vulnerable families required
- Housing, shelter, ministry, or leadership experience preferred

- Wisdom, discernment, and healthy boundary-setting
- Organized, adaptable, and relational
- Reliable transportation required
