Family Coaches walk alongside parents as they work toward stability, helping set goals, offer encouragement, and share the hope of Christ. You are a compassionate friend—supporting both the parent and Host Family during the hosting. It's a meaningful role that brings connection, accountability, and Gospel-centered care to families navigating hard seasons.
Becoming a Family Coach means stepping into a parent's story with compassion. When a hosting arrangement begins, a Family Coach connects with both the Host Family and the parent to facilitate the intake meeting, enter the hosting in our system, and start building trust.
Family Coaches meet regularly with parents to set stability goals—such as finding housing, childcare, or employment—and to encourage spiritual growth through Gospel conversations as the opportunity arises. They also stay in touch with the Host Family, ensuring needs are met and offering support throughout the hosting.
As reunification approaches, Family Coaches help prepare everyone involved, celebrating progress and documenting the journey. Often, the relationship does not end when the hosting does. Many Family Coaches continue to walk alongside families, tangibly showing Christ's love in every step.
Family Coach Spotlight
When an expectant mom we'll call Tasha reached out through the Support Line for a hosting, Taylor—one of our Family Coaches—responded without hesitation. From gathering diapers and a Bible to encouraging Tasha with scripture, Taylor brought the heart of Christ into every step of the hosting. As Tasha prepared to welcome her baby, Taylor came alongside her to offer not just practical support but spiritual encouragement, reminding her that she is not alone. Family Coaches like Taylor are vital bridges between parents and the community they need to thrive.
“What an honor to help and to make a new friend—and grow in our dependence on Christ!"
