As a Resource Volunteer, you help make every hosting possible through behind-the-scenes service. Whether you are praying for families, delivering diapers and car seats, organizing the Resource Closet, or preparing meals, your efforts make sure practical needs are met with excellence and love. You support Host Families and bring comfort to parents—reminding them that they are not forgotten, and that God's people are ready to help in dark moments.
Resource Volunteers provide essential support that helps every hosting go smoothly. Each role offers a unique way to serve, ensuring that families and volunteers have what they need—both practically and spiritually.
Prayer Support Volunteers commit weekly time to cover families, Host Families, and New Mercies staff in prayer. These volunteers intercede behind the scenes, trusting God to move in every part of the ministry.
Runners deliver critical items to Host Families, like car seats, diapers, backpacks, or meals, ensuring that children are welcomed into homes with everything they need. Their quick response and servant hearts help equip and support Host Families.
Resource Closet Volunteers organize and manage donated supplies in our resource closet. They sort, stock, and prepare items so that when a hosting is scheduled, families receive clothing and other essentials when they need them.
Meal Volunteers prepare freezer meals that are given to Host Families during hostings. These meals help soften the transition period when Host Families are caring for a few more children and juggling new routines.
Together, Resource Volunteers provide the support that reminds families they are seen, loved, and not alone. Every item packed and every prayer lifted reflects the heart of Christ through humble, meaningful service.

Amy and Theresa are Resource Volunteers, the behind-the-scenes volunteers who make each hosting work. They spend their time in the resource closet sorting donations, cleaning returned items, and getting supplies ready so Host Families and children served have what they need when a hosting begins.
Whether it’s diapers, pajamas, car seats, or a packed backpack, their serving makes sure nothing falls through the cracks. Theresa and Amy love the flexibility of the role and knowing that what they’re doing truly helps families in practical, meaningful ways.
