3 Ways to Pray for New Mercies This Month

At New Mercies, we believe in the power of prayer. It is the foundation of everything we do—from walking with vulnerable families to equipping volunteers for the work of the Gospel. Whether you are new to the ministry or have been walking with us for years, here are three intentional ways you can lift up the ministry in prayer this month:

1. Encouragement for Volunteers

Pray for our Host Families, Family Coaches, Ministry Coordinators, and Support Volunteers. Ask the Lord to fill them with strength and joy as they walk alongside families facing life’s challenges. Pray that they would feel seen and supported in their calling, and that they would be reminded daily that their efforts are kingdom work. Ask God to protect their hearts from discouragement and give them glimpses of His redemptive work through their service.

“Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.” – 1 Corinthians 15:58

2. Connections to Families Who Need Us Most

Pray that God would make divine connections between New Mercies and the families He desires us to serve. Pray for open doors, softened hearts, and for our Support Line Volunteers and staff to discern the best ways to respond. Ask for wisdom and grace to meet families at just the right time with the hope of Christ and the support of a loving community.

“The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.” – Psalm 34:18

3. Rest in the Hard Moments of Serving

Ministry is beautiful. But it can also be heavy. Pray that every volunteer and staff member finds rhythms of rest and restoration. Ask that we would remain grounded in the truth that it is not our strength, but His, that carries the weight. Pray for peace in the moments that feel overwhelming, and for God to refresh weary hearts.

“Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” – Matthew 11:28

Your intercession strengthens this ministry more than you know. When you pray, you help protect children from unnecessary separation, empower parents to persevere, and create a path toward Gospel transformation. Thank you for standing in the gap with us.
